Your wuhan cymbals guide

Wuhan Cymbals and Gongs, now under the umbrella of the Cardinal Percussion Company, are known for their quality, sound, and affordability. Their cymbals are made with a combination of tried and true two-thousand year old methods and modern manufacturing techniques. They now have cymbals for every experience level and budget.

Wuhan cymbals are often chosen by drummers who don't want to "follow the crowd" so-to-speak, and are looking to differentiate themselves and their drum set sound.

The wuhan cymbals line-up

the chrome series

The alloy these cymbals are made from includes steel and has a very bright, mirror-like, finish. This line is aimed at the beginner market, but look and sound like higher end cymbals. They are available only as a cymbal pack, with 14" high hats, a 16" crash, and a 20" ride cymbal.

the 457 series

These entry level cymbals designed by drummers in the U.S. are made with a combination of lathing and hammering. They have a more standard finish than the chrome line and are offered in a standard cymbal pack, and add-on pack, and in individual sizes.

the 457 rock series

This version of the 457 line-up has a hammering pattern and a partially lathed finish that gives them a darker tone more associated with more expensive cymbals. They are well suited for any genre and are offered in a standard cymbal pack, and add-on crash pack, and individual sizes.

the ora (outward reduced audio) series

Wuhan's offering to the "quiet cymbal" market, these cymbals have a sound that is as rich as it is quiet and is perfect for apartment playing, low volume gigs, rehearsals, and of course parents. They are available in a standard cymbal pack or in individual sizes.

the koi series

Made with a combination of lathing and hand hammering, these cymbals have a warm, complex sound with a lot of clarity from the un-lathed bell. They are available in a wide variety of types including high hats, splash, crash, ride, china cymbals, and other effects cymbals.

the western series

Made from the same B20 cast alloy as many of the most popular cymbals available today, this line-up can give you the widest variety of sounds for the money. These high end cymbals, on a not-so high end budget, are available in cymbal packs and in individual sizes.

the wuhan china cymbal

These dark, trashy, and explosive china cymbals are made using centuries-old techniques for a beautiful handmade look and a truly unique sound.  The Wuhan China is available in a wide variety of sizes.

Wuhan gongs

Also made using their centuries-old hand made techniques, Wuhan gongs sound as great as they look. Available in a variety of sizes.
